Begin by taking a few deep breaths, inhaling slowly through the nose, feeling the belly expand, and then exhaling gently through the mouth to release any tension. With each breath, ground yourself in the present moment. Now bring your attention to the sensations within the body, especially noticing the points of contact between your body and the surface supporting you.
As you settle in, observe any thoughts or narratives that arise in your mind. If you find a particular story captivating you, simply label it "story" in your mind and bring your focus back to your breath and the physical sensations in your body. This is about watching your thoughts, not getting lost in them.
Visualize yourself standing at the entrance of a dark cave that symbolizes your mind and the stories within it. Although you may feel hesitant or scared, recognize that your authentic self resides within that darkness. Take a deep breath, and as the hero, step forward into this cave, letting your mindful presence light up its shadowy depths.
